The Barber Shop nods to the past but shakes hands with the future. In the past barbering was always about value, trust, convenience and simplicity and the interior reflects this; everything is genuine and authentic yet fully functional. Custom upholstered Belmont Apollo 2 chairs sit opposite hand-crafted walnut mirrors with Samsung LCD TV screens cleverly placed behind. The rectangular shop seamlessly moves from waiting area, reception and product display to service stations then on to hair washing at the rear.
Opposite cutting stations, product displays are interspersed with framed images of contemporary and symbolic men’s culture, some of which are for sale. On the shelves, as well as SHARPS product, will be gear and essentials that move us as a culture, and set us apart from the mainstream. Currently we have CD’s from Mr Hudson and the library, English shoes from Grenson and Black Dice watches favoured by Justin Timberlake and Liam Gallagher. Also on sale are a custom SHARPS Zene scooters, in brown with a discreet logo and BMX Kuwhara bikes.
While you’re at SHARPS, we’ll take care of you as best as we know how. Thanks to our friends at AMSTEL a cold beer is waiting for you in the fridge. First thing in the morning how about an espresso or a latte from our high tech coffee maker, or tea from our low-tech kettle. If you’re not into any of that there might be a root beer, ice cold Coca Cola, or a glass of London’s own top rated tap water.
We’re planning more SHARPS Barbershops both sides of the pond before the end of next year. We’ll keep you posted on our progress, watch this space!
